Your tour will begin in the morning with your guide picking you from your hotel. After a transfer through the breathtaking Balkan Mountains you will reach the town of Belogradchik in the late morning. The town is surrounded by very distinctive red rock formations of different shapes in the foothills of the mountains. Hidden in these rocks is the fortress of Belograchik. Overlooking the town it protects from ancient times, the fortification covers an area of two and a half acres, divided in three separate sections with the most protected area high up in the cliffs. Your guide will take you through the history of the place while you walk between the fortress walls and admire the magnificent panoramic views it offers. After the visit of the fortress it is time for lunch in a restaurant where you will have the chance to try local dishes served in a traditional atmosphere. In the afternoon it is time to head back and on the way you will visit the Cherepish Monstarty in the deep Iskar River Gorge cutting through the Balkan Mountains. Life seems to slow down in this sacred place surrounded by deep forests and pale coloured cliffs that gave the name of the monastery. After a walk around and visit to the monastery church and mausoleum it is time for the final leg of the journey. In the late afternoon you will arrive back in Sofia and your guide will take you back to your hotel.
